You can decide which access permissions you want to grant to recipients when you share a file or folder and even after you share it. Recipients may have different scopes of use depending on their access permissions.

Member Roles of a shared file
Members of a shared file can have one of four roles—owner, viewer, downloader, or editor.
-
Owner: Only one person owns a file. Only the owner can manage member permissions and set whether the file is shared or not.
-
Viewer: Members granted this permission can view file information and preview a file.
-
Downloader: Members granted this permission can view comments and preview and download a file.
-
Editor: Members granted this permission can comment on, edit, and download a file.
Member Roles of a shared folder
Members of a shared folder can have one of five roles—owner, viewer, downloader, uploader, or Editor.
-
Owner: Only one member can be the owner of a folder. The person who initially created the shared folder is automatically the owner. However, an exception occurs if you create the shared folder within another user's parent folder. Only the owner can manage member permissions and unshare the folder.
-
Viewer: Members granted this permission can view file lists and information, and preview files in the shared folder.
-
Downloader: Members granted this permission can view comments, preview, and download files in the shared folder, but they can't add, copy, move, edit, delete, or share files.
-
Uploader: Members granted this permission can preview, download, comment on, add, copy, and move files in the shared folder, but can't delete or share files.
-
Editor: Members granted this permission can add, download, copy, move, edit, share, delete, and comment on files in the shared folder.
