Move files to Trash
Right-click on the file or folder you want to delete and click 'Delete' to move it to the Trash.
To permanently delete files from Rakuten Drive, you need to empty your trash.
Trash retention period
The Files in Trash are stored by default for 14 days, and you can set up to 30 days to store deleted files in the Trash. Go to Settings > Cloud Storage > Trash storage period setting. Please note that all files in Trash will be deleted permanently after a period of days.
Empty trash
* Entirely Empty trash: Click [Empty trash] on the right side of Trash.
* Permanently delete each file or folder: Select the files or folders you want to delete permanently and click [Delete] on the right side of Trash.
※ Please note that if you delete a file or folder from trash, it will be permanently deleted.
Restore files from your trash
1. Select the file or folder you want to recover
2. Click [Restore] on the right side of Trash. The file is moved back to Drive.

Tap the 3 dots icon at the right end of the file or folder you want to delete, and then tap 'Delete' to move it to Trash. To permanently delete files from Rakuten Drive, you need to empty your trash.

1. Go to Trash tab of Cloud menu.
2. Tap the 3 dots icon at the top right and then tap ‘Empty Trash’
* Permanently delete each file or folder

2. Tap the 3 dots icon at the right end of the file or folder you want to delete permanently
3. Tap 'Delete'.

Restore files from your Trash
1. Go to Trash tab of Cloud menu.
2. Tap the 3 dots icon at the right end of the file or folder you want to restore.
3. Tap 'Restore'.
⚠ Cautions
- For security purposes, Rakuten Drive disables your account after over 1 year of inactivity, and all files stored in Rakuten Drive are deleted. Once deleted, it cannot be recovered again.
You will get a notice to the email address you signed up for Rakuten Drive one month before deactivating your account. If you sign in to Rakuten Drive within the scheduled date of deactivation after advance notice, your account will be reactivated, and you can use Rakuten Drive service as it is.
If you don't want to deactivate your account, please sign in to Rakuten Drive with your account right away and tap [Reactivate Rakuten Drive account].
- Even if Rakuten Drive tries to charge your subscription several times, when your subscription has been canceled and downgraded to Rakuten Drive Free due to an unsolved card problem (e.g. exceeding limit, lack of balance, etc), all files in the Rakuten Drive will be deleted 187 days after the subscription end date.
- Once deleted, it can never be recovered. Be sure to back up important files in advance.
