【How to upgrade from a free plan to a paid plan】
STEP 1:Log in to Rakuten Drive with your Rakuten SAIKYO Plan or Rakuten SAIKYO Plan (Data Type) Rakuten ID.
1. Check the Rakuten ID linked to your Rakuten SAIKYO Plan or Rakuten SAIKYO Plan (Data Type) subscription.
2. Log in to Rakuten Drive Web(rakuten-drive.com) with your Rakuten ID.
1)Select Log in with Rakuten ID button.
2)You will be redirected to the Rakuten site.
3)Enter your login details of Rakuten.
4)After logging in, you will be directed back to Rakuten Drive.
※ It may take approximately 24 hours to verify your Rakuten SAIKYO Plan (Data Type) subscription.
STEP 2:Subscribe to a Rakuten Drive plan
1. Click on your Profile Icon in the upper right corner.
2. Click Upgrade Plan.
3. Select your desired plan and click Choose Plan.

4. Click Go to Payment Screen.
5. Enter your card information and click Subscribe.
【How to upgrade to a higher-tiered plan】
1. Log in to Rakuten Drive Web(rakuten-drive.com), referring to the instructions in【STEP 1】above.
2. Click on your Profile Icon in the upper right corner.
3. Click on Current Plan.
4. Select your desired plan and click Choose Plan.
※ Please read and confirm the payment amount and terms and conditions, also privacy policy.
5. Click on Make Payment.
※ Payment will be made with the credit card used for your previous subscription. There is no need to re-enter your credit card information.
※ Should you choose to upgrade your plan while there are remaining days in your current billing cycle, the system will automatically calculate the unused portion and only charge you the difference. (Future billing cycles will be charged at the new plan's rate.)
※ Note ※
- If you do not cancel your Rakuten Drive plan before the renewal date, your membership will automatically continue and you will be automatically charged to your payment method until you cancel. You can check your payment history and issue receipts here.
- If you upgrade your plan during the 30-day free trial, your free trial will end immediately, and the new plan will be activated and billed accordingly.
- Please note that if you are already subscribed to the Rakuten Drive PRO plan via in-app purchase on iOS, you cannot switch to this plan mid-subscription.
- You can cancel your subscription at anytime. Logging out of your account or deleting Rakuten Drive app from your device does not mean that you cancel the subscription. Please refer to How to cancel your subscription to complete the subscription cancellation process.
If you cancel [Rakuten SAIKYO Plan or Rakuten SAIKYO Plan (Data Type)] or change to [Apple Watch Family Sharing Plan] while using Rakuten Drive Paid Plan:
- If you are currently in a 30-day free trial, your account will be converted to the Rakuten Drive Free plan immediately.
- If you have paid and subscribed to a plan, you can continue using the Rakuten Drive paid plan for the remaining paid period.
Upon downgrading to a Rakuten Drive Free plan, the following changes will be implemented:
- Depending upon your Rakuten SAIKYO Plan or Rakuten SAIKYO Plan (Data Type) subscription, your account will be converted to Rakuten Drive 50 GB Free or Rakuten Drive Free and you will still be able to access “My Drive”.
- If your usage exceeds the downgraded cloud storage quota, you will face limitations on sharing and uploading files, and all files in “My Drive” will be subject to automatic deletion on after 187 days. Before then, please either download the files and save them to your own device or reduce your storage usage to within your quota.
- All links in “My Link” will expire on the set expiration date. Please be aware that once links have expired or been deleted, they cannot be restored.
